We are owners of a couple of plots that add up more than 50 acres. We use our tractor for crushing, plowing, transporting, lifting and spreading. We have a rapid coupling accessory that greatly simplifies the use of different implements. The accessories used are a crusher, a plow, a saucepan, forklift fork and a hare. We have placed gravel roads, charged garbage, raised bales of hay, pallets supplies, crushed, worked in sand, scattered sand, etc. And the 5045 has done everything we have needed. We debated between the 5055e or the 5065e but we decided to try the 5045E. We have not encountered any task that makes us think that we should have opted for the most powerful models.
It is an excellent basic machine, 45 hp, but with a conservative classification. Easily strip a 16 “x 14” Hesston packing machine, which is supposed to require a 50 HP machine at least. The lower power machine is built on a larger frame, is not compact, which is important for hay’s work. I measure 1.80 m and I have a lot of space. I would never buy a tractor without awning and it works very well. It is very reliable and it is a pleasure to drive it. I also have a 75hp mahindra (7520) also with 4-wheel drive and the deere does everything as well except that it is too small to carry the hay stacker 1033. I recommend always buy a little more tractor than you need because Too small is not much cheaper. The 5045 can be converted into a 5065 of 65cv simply by operating the pump. We compare all the specifications and we look at the machines, there is absolutely no other difference. Except the price. This machine is mainly used to cut large areas of grass in my mobile home park, and it is a second tractor for hay on my farm.
He had a John Deere 4005 of 2009 and I changed it by this 5045e. I wanted a larger tractor with more lifting capacity of the loading shovel and transmission with synchronized change. I am very satisfied with this tractor. The seat settings are comfortable, it has a lot of power for a 6 ‘breaker, it is maneuverable and has a good field of vision. The internal valve of the rock shaft had to be replaced after 50 hours as it was defective. However, the concessionaire arranged immediately on warranty. Maintenance seems to be simple and is very efficient in fuel. Mine is stored in the workshop, but I would put a refrigerant heater if you were staying abroad. The heater of the air box works well in my climate. I decided on the tires when I bought this tractor and decided on a standard R1 8,3×24 in front and 13,6×28 behind. Now I wish I had spent the extra money and have purchased larger tires R1 or even R4. The property is new to me and I use it for several gardening projects, land cleaning and road maintenance. The smallest R1 leave furrows but the traction is good. It is a very stable tractor in the earrings of my property. I carry a retractable safety belt and I feel in control. I grew up on a farm in Iowa and the green was my favorite tractor. I retired from Marine’s body a few years ago in the field of heavy machinery so that possessing a John Deere was my dream. You will pay a little more for the green painting, but it seems good to fulfill my dream.
I was comparing with the Kubota MX5100. I settled on the utility style of the 5045D. The tractor is incredibly powerful when picking up bushes. The only time it needed attention was when the gauges fogged up after a while of running, but the dealer came in and changed the entire gauge pack and corrected the problem. The engine is a bit louder than the Kubota’s, but it’s not excessive. The only thing I would like is for the tractor to come with the steer inclined. Every now and then I would like to have a little more space when turning to work a rear implement. Overall, I am very satisfied with the tractor and recommend it. Good value for money
Good machine. I live in East Tennessee on the ridges. I have widened the front and rear wheels. Factory settings were dangerous for my farm. I am mowing, raking, and packing about 15 acres, planting about 3 acres of food parcels, hoarding 10 acres, and keeping my property clean. This tractor does a good job. Now I have 280hrs with no problems. I’m just disappointed with the power. I guess I was spoiled by old David Brown.
